About Prof. Arvindan Thekkadath
Indo-Franco-Canadian pianist Arvindan Thekkadath, born in Ottawa, pursued his musical studies at the École Normale de Musique de Paris with Nelson Delle-Vigne and Marian Rybicki as an Alfred Roussel scholar, and later at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussels with Daniel Blumenthal, where Cyprien Katsaris encouraged him toward a career in performance and pedagogy. He continues advanced work with Eliso Virsaladze and has further refined his artistry through studies with leading pianists including Maria João Pires, Jerome Lowenthal, Michel Beroff, Philippe Entremont, and Jean-Philippe Collard. Active as both performer and scholar, he is Professor of Piano and English at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, artistic director of recording projects, and a doctoral candidate researching Russian and French piano traditions in a global context. An Artist-in-Residence with the Bell’Arte Foundation, he has appeared at major international venues and festivals and is regularly invited to present masterclasses and serve on competition juries.
