Our School-Year Opening: A New Chapter for the Studio
TL;DR — the short version
- Three new teachers have joined our team: Edvinas, Rūta and Giedrė.
- We opened additional studio rooms in the same building.
- This year brings more chances to perform, two international music camps, and the option to prepare for ABRSM exams.
Our school-year opening celebration is more than just another start of September.
So much has changed at our studio this year, with many new and beautiful things we really want to share. We are growing faster and faster, our community is getting bigger, and new ideas, projects and opportunities for students keep appearing.
The biggest news: three new teachers have joined our team.
This means a great deal to our studio. That is why the opening evening will be not only a concert, but also a chance to meet our team members in person, hear them play, and feel how different, interesting and individual the musicians and teachers who shape our studio’s atmosphere are.
This year we also grew physically: we opened additional studio rooms in the same building. This is a very important step for us. It lets us welcome more students, create more activities and give music even more space. You’ll reach the new rooms through the security desk, and on the day of the event we’ll put up clear signs so the way is easy to find.
More chances to be on stage
This school year we’re starting a new tradition: we’ll hold small Performance Practice concerts more often.
These will be cosy performances where students can play even when a piece isn’t perfectly ready yet.
It matters a lot to us that children understand this: the stage is not a place you may only step onto once everything is perfect.
Performing in public is like a muscle. It needs to be trained steadily and regularly. The more often a child gets to stand in front of others, try, make a mistake, carry on and try again, the more natural performing becomes.
Registration for the first Performance Practice concerts opens in October.
International camps in Mallorca and Vienna
Another big piece of news this year: we’ll run two international music camps abroad.
In February we travel to Mallorca, and in July to Vienna.
Those who have already taken part in our international projects know how much this kind of experience gives. Being in an international environment, meeting people from other cultures, hearing a different approach to music and teaching: all of this becomes a rare opportunity to grow, not only as a musician but as a person.
So we warmly invite everyone who can to join these trips.
ABRSM exams: one more way to grow
For several years now we have been preparing students for the international ABRSM exams.
They are not a required part of every student’s path. But for those who want it, they can become one more clear direction, a source of motivation, and a way to measure musical progress against international standards.
If a student would like to prepare for an ABRSM exam, their teacher can assess their current level, discuss the most suitable programme, and decide together whether this path is right for them at the moment.
And now, the best part
We’ll begin the opening evening the way that has become our lovely tradition.
I’ll open the concert together with my mother, a violinist. Every year this performance has a special meaning for me. It is a reminder that music so often begins with closeness, family, connection and sharing.
After that I’ll hand the stage over to our new team members, Edvinas, Rūta and Giedrė.
Each of them is very different, with their own musical story, experience and relationship with music. And that, I think, is one of the most beautiful things about our growing studio.
This evening we want to do more than tell you what the new school year holds.
We want to meet, get to know each other, listen to one another, and celebrate how much we have already grown.
And begin a new chapter for our studio together.
We look forward to seeing you at our school-year opening celebration. 🎹✨
